I've just returned back to the UK after another amazing visit to my motherland, Namibia. Every time I go back, I am reminded at the pure natural beauty of this country. I always feel inspired and refreshed after a visit. All my best wishes for 2012!

A photograph taken in car park below Edinburgh Castle. It rained earlier in the day which allowed me to get these reflections. I love how the spots on the tarmac came out. What is essentially bubble gum and gravel looks like stars in the night sky.

5 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD PHOTOGRAPH A FRIEND'S WEDDING

Recently I had the opportunity to photograph a friend's wedding. This was a great privilege and honour as my friend is an amazing wedding photographer himself. I am not a wedding photographer, but always wanted to take on the challenge of a wedding. This post is aimed at photographers in a similar position.

If asked to photograph more weddings I will and these are the reasons why:

An iconic feature of London's skyline - St. Paul's Cathedral just after sunset. The Millennium Bridge remains one of my favourite river crossings in the city.

Petone is on the opposite end from Wellington Harbour, New Zealand. This photograph was taken on Petone Pier just before sunset. The pier offers beautiful views of the bay and many locals fish from it throughout the day.

Castlepoint in New Zealand is one of the most spectacular places on the Wairarapa coastline. The lady and her friend walked along the beach and took photographs of sea gulls and waves. Then she paused and turned to take a quick snap of the lighthouse. I took this photo with a small compact and did some basic post processing in LR.

(Ps. Weeks 2 - 4 are still outstanding, but I promise to post them soon.)

The winter is beginning to set in here in England. We went for a walk to get out of the house and I tested out the Lastolite EzyBox Hotshoe Softbox. Very happy with the results!
